GODZone Race Director Warren Bates is enforcing a two hour time penalty on Team 50 Motueka for leaving a piece of mandatory equipment on the beach at Kingston. The team mistakenly left their yellow brick tracker at the transition area and are currently paddling on Lake Wakatipu without it.
Warren says the team will be told to serve a two hour penalty at Lakeside Estate – 300 meters north of the CP 31 where there is a jetty and grassy area. The penalty will be self administered but Race HQ will be watching as the tracker is being driven up the road by a TA staff member and will be given to them at the CP.
