Wondering where Team 80 are going? So are we!
The Ginger Ninja Crew of Brian Wilson, Darryl Sutton, Anthony Fokkens and David O’Carroll have managed to make two complete 180-degree turns in the last 24 hours – both in the wrong direction.
On the trek up to Mt Titiroa and the Borland abseil the team failed to make it over into the Garnet Burn and instead did a complete 180-degree turn and travelled in the completely wrong direction.
” They actually went the other way and made it through to the Back Valley Hut which could have been smart play because there is a track from that hut directly back up towards the abseil,” says Course Director Adam Fairmaid. “However these guys for whatever reason did another complete 180 degree turn and are now heading towards Lake Rakatu.They either know something we don’t, have a northern hemisphere compass or dare I say it we are wondering perhaps is their map upside down?
