High profile USA team Adventure Medical Kits experiencing their second GODZone are starting to understand the ‘hudu’ that surrounds only Kiwis winning this race.
No international team have ever managed to pull off first place and AMK had set their sights on it for Chapter 6. However at TA 8 late this afternoon captain Kyle Peters admitted the team had to be realistic about their ranking.
” We just finished the lake paddle which was so beautiful. We are really sleepy and not fighting so hard now. Its disappointing but we have to be realistic about this race. Its tough out there! This course is really hard on feet. We are not quitters and are still pushing through!”
