VOLUNTEERING UNTIL IT’S TIME TO RACE

Chris Brand, an arborist from Winton, pas put his name up for the second year to be a logistics volunteer at GODZone. Surrounded by great people, great mind sets, and great positivity, he said he was “pretty quick to put his hand up again.” It’s about meeting new people and having fun. His wife Kerri is racing in team 54, Plodding Along, and Chris says once she’s ready to retire, he’s looking forward to giving GODZone a go. He was lucky enough last year to jump in for a team and do the final 47km paddle along Lake Wakatipu from Kingston back to Frankton. “It was great, it gave me a taste of it.”
